Meloot Varma Family worships the goddesses Meloot Bhagavathi and their family temple is known as Melootu kudumbakshetram. They are mainly located in Kollam, Thrissur, Alapuzha and some northern sides of kerala. Devotees offering Naranga Vilakku ( lime lamp) and Shanku Vilakku ( ocean cone lamp ) at Meloot Temple with their faith for wholesomeness is noteworthy. Melootu kudumbakshetram was one of the richest temples during the Travancore Dynasty period but it ended on 12th April, 1935. Unfortunately, their abundant prosperity and treasures were looted by the foreign invaders and left with few hidden valuables. Now the main  family  temple is  sub-divided and located in different parts of Kerala as Melootu Kshethram.
