Meloot Varma/ Panicker Caste

Meloot is a prominent Varma family in kerala. Eventhough they have royal lineage and principal royalty they embrace the title of panicker as they are born warriors and they got rewarded with the title " Panicker" for their renowned military administration.  Panicker title are also commonly used by other castes such as,  Nairs ( Shudra community) , Ezhavas (Buddhists or Jains) and Syrian Christians  but they are all plainly different from Meloot Panicker Family and does not keep any relationship or alliance  with others before common era (CE) . At present, it is true that many people from Meloot Panicker family does not have enough knowledge about their history, royal lineage and get confused or have no option in the present caste system column to pick (Kshatriya "varma/ panicker") so misconstrue themselves as Nairs, Ezhavas and Syrian Christians .
